We moved to Pittsburgh in the fall of 2018, leaving San Francisco with each other and a few pieces of furniture from our tiny Dogpatch apartment and moving into a newly built townhouse near Bakery Square. Since then, our family has grown—we added a dog and two daughters, lived through a pandemic, celebrated Duolingo's IPO, converted our downstairs into a living space for au pairs, and completed four phases of renovations.
Living in our house throughout the entirety of the Covid-19 pandemic as well as having our first child, we wanted to make a bunch of improvements to our house. We enlisted the help of Studio Lithe to embark on a multi-phase, entire home renovation in 2022. After nearly two years and 3 phases, we have a new garage, new kitchen, new stairs, new primary bedroom and bathroom, new kiddo bathroom, new study, and a new roof deck patio.
